Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Microblading Retouch.

We recommend a retouch about six to eight weeks after your initial microblading to correct healing variability. After that, maintenance typically occurs every twelve to eighteen months depending on skin type, lifestyle, and pigment retention to keep strokes crisp and color true.

Most clients report mild discomfort similar to the initial service. We apply topical numbing to reduce sensitivity, and the procedure is brief. Communicate any concerns and your technician will pause or adjust pressure to keep you comfortable throughout the retouch.

Plan for about forty-five to ninety minutes total, which includes consultation, color matching, numbing, and the pigment refresh. Time varies based on correction needs and whether extra shaping or blending is required.

Avoid applying makeup, brow products, or active skincare (retinols, acids) on the brow area twenty-four to forty-eight hours before your retouch. Clean, product-free skin allows better pigment uptake and a more accurate assessment of healed color and shape.

Immediately after retouch, pigment may appear darker and more intense; this is normal. As the brow heals over two to four weeks, color softens and strokes settle into a natural tone. Your artist will advise on expectations and aftercare to achieve the final result.

Follow aftercare instructions: keep the area dry for twenty-four hours, avoid swimming, excessive sweating, and direct sun for two weeks, and apply recommended ointment sparingly. Proper care prevents infection, supports pigment retention, and ensures crisp, long-lasting hair stroke appearance.
